چکیده
BackgroundParkinson's disease (PD) and metabolic syndrome are separate entities that share common underlying pathophysiology. Management strategy for is clinically better characterized finding a positive clinical correlation between the two could lead to understanding of Parkinson's progression prognosis.PurposeTo explore relationship in PD characterize pathophysiology, which then impact management PD.MethodsUsing modified NCEP (National Cholesterol Education Program) ATP III (Adult Treatment Plan) criteria, patients enrolled STEADY-PD (Safety, Tolerability, Efficacy Assessment Isradipine) were classified into one three categories compared on over period 3 years.ResultsParticipants with showed trend more terms PD, as measured by total Unified Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), motor EDL (Experiences daily living) scores Movement Disorder Society - (MDS-UPDRS), Montreal Cognitive (MoCA). A significant decline MoCA was found group (−0.78), those without (0.14). Greater signifies worse outcomes.ConclusionThe results demonstrate subjects syndrome. However, limited sample size laboratory measurements available. We hope this study will encourage larger studies further.
